I’ve just realized that - in a bit of synchronicity - I can reach my (first) ultimate goal weight and hair growth goal in the same month: August 2012.
Right now, I rarely straighten my hair because it feels kind of foolish to make the effort in my current (fat!) state.
BUT - once I’m at my first ultimate goal weight (140lbs - and from there, I’ll continue to tone and hopefully...

A few questions about clean eating.
Throughout this journey, I’ve used clean eating (no processed foods or refined carbs) along with exercise to lose weight (70lbs so far since February!). That said, I’ve been less than consistent. I didn’t lose ANY weight (stayed in the 240s) for 5 months because I chose to eat haphazardly. The only reason I didn’t gain during this 5 month stretch is because I worked out....

…and then, when I’m satisfied, I could just emerge into the world the person I’ve always wanted to be.

This is the kind of article that depresses me...
It’s called “Shaming Black Women Won’t Encourage Them To Lose Weight“… And it states that over 80% of black women over 20 years old are overweight or obese - and that they don’t care. That in itself is both surprising and expected, but it’s just so complicated to process without thinking in sweeping generalities.

back to 229
After my Thanksgiving slip up, I’m back at 229 (it really was Thanksgiving WEEK and I think I saw 240 on the scale at some point, but that’s not possible, right? I mean, at this weight, fluctuations can be wild, but not THAT wild.) - the low weight for my weight loss journey. That puts me in a good position to be at 220 by Christmas… or at least the first week of January.
